
Professor
Sherman Klump is getting married. And the Klump family could not be more
delighted. His fiancee Denise is thrilled to become a Klump, and with
her appetite shell fit right in; Mama thinks its fabulous;
Papas less grouchy; Grannys relieved that Sherman, at long
last, will soon be enjoying the pleasures of intimate relations; Ernies
belligerence has been momentarily simmered, and Ernie Jr. simply cant
wait to feast at the wedding. But Buddy Love... well, Buddy is another
matter.
Lovable
Sherman thought he had seen the last of his alter-ego, but Buddy Love
is back and trying to make it on his own. Having done his best to keep
Buddy buried in his subconscious, the portly and painfully-shy professor
is horrified to find him resurfacing in untimely outbursts, and threatening
his marriage plans to colleague Denise Gaines (Janet Jackson). Utilizing
Denises cutting-edge DNA research, Sherman decides to rid himself
of his monstrous nemesis and his disruptive outburstsonce
and for all by extracting Buddys DNA from his system.
But
Buddy Love will not go quietly. He bursts full-bodied into Shermans
world and lays claim to the professors astounding invention
a revolutionary youth serum. The serum can turn back time temporarily,
shave decades off ones appearance and restore vitality, making it
a hugely lucrative property that everyones clamoring for. Desperate
to keep it from Buddy, Sherman hides the serum in the Klump family home,
thinking it will be safe. (But even Cletus "Papa" Klump finds
the serum irresistible, momentarily revisiting the glory and libidinal
wonder of his youth).
Buddy,
of course, isnt to be deterred. His instincts lead him to the Klump
home, where Denises bachelorette party is in full swing. Creeping
around the house, he is confronted by a lascivious Granny Klump, who believes
Buddy to be the man of her erotic dreams. Horrified by the septuagenarian
sirens advances, Buddy quickly manages to locate the "youth
juice" and steals away. And so begins a race against time as Sherman
battles to reclaim his formula, restore order to his family, and marry
the woman he loves... before all hell breaks loose.
Universal
Pictures and Imagine Entertainment present Nutty Professor II: The
Klumps, an explosive comedy starring Eddie Murphy (Dr. Dolittle)
and Janet Jackson (Poetic Justice), who are joined by Larry Miller
and John Ales from the first The Nutty Professor. Produced by Brian
Grazer (Liar Liar, Bowfinger), the film is directed by Peter Segal
(Tommy Boy) from a screenplay by Barry W. Blaustein & David
Sheffield and Paul Weitz & Chris Weitz (American Pie). Jerry
Lewis, Eddie Murphy, Karen Kehela, Tom Shadyac and James D. Brubaker serve
as executive producers with James Whitaker and Michael Ewing serving as
co-producers.
Academy Award®-winner Dean Semler returns as cinematographer with
William Elliott returning as production designer, William Kerr returning
as editor with special make-up effects wizard and five-time Academy Award®-winner
Rick Baker and visual effects supervisor Jon Farhat also returning. They
are joined by costume designer Sharen Davis (Dr. Dolittle) and
composer David Newman (The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas).
